Driving School FAQ Pretoria & Centurion

Answers to the most common questions we get as a driving school in Pretoria and Centurion — from K53 learner’s and driver’s licence training to lesson bookings, test centres, packages and fees. Still need help? Contact us and we’ll guide you.

General Questions

1. Where are you located / what areas do you cover?

We are based in Centurion and cover Centurion and Pretoria. Our instructors come to you. Please note we do not cover Midrand.

2. Do you offer automatic or manual vehicles?

We offer manual transmission training only.

3. What are your operating hours?

Lessons are available Monday to Saturday, 06:00–18:00.

4. How do I contact you?

You can reach us by phone, email, or WhatsApp.

5. Do you offer Code 10 or PDP?

No. For Code 10 and PDP (Public Driver’s Permit) services, please visit drivingrus.co.za.

Registration & Getting Started

6. How do I register?

You can register via our online form, or download and email the registration form along with your ID, learner’s licence, and proof of payment.

7. What documents do I need to register?

You will need your South African ID, your learner’s licence (if applicable), and proof of payment.

8. What file types and sizes can I upload?

We accept JPG, PNG, or PDF files with a maximum size of 15 MB.

9. How long before I hear back after registering?

You can expect a response within 1 business day.

Learner’s Licence

10. What do I need to apply for a learner’s licence?

You will need a valid South African ID (uncertified copy accepted), 2 ID photos, an optometrist eye test certificate, and a bank card — please note that testing centres do not accept cash.

11. Do you offer classes or study material?

We offer self-study only. Free study material and dummy tests can be emailed to you on request, and downloads are also available on our website.

12. How long is the wait for a learner’s test date?

The wait is approximately 1–3 weeks, depending on availability.

13. Which testing centres do you use?

We use Waltloo or Centurion DLTC, whichever has the earliest available dates.

14. What happens if I fail the learner’s test?

You will need to rebook. If we handle the rebooking on your behalf, a rebooking fee of R1,250 applies.

Driving Lessons

15. How do I book a driving lesson?

You can book via email, phone, WhatsApp, or directly with your instructor.

16. How long is a driving lesson?

Each driving lesson is 1 hour long.

17. Do you pick me up?

Yes — you will be collected and dropped off at one address within Pretoria or Centurion.

18. Can I use my own car for lessons?

Yes, you are welcome to use your own car for lessons at the same price.

19. What’s your cancellation policy for lessons?

You must cancel with at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged in full.

20. Can I buy single lessons outside a package?

Yes. Package B11 offers lessons at R300 per lesson. You can also add individual lessons to any existing package.

Driver’s Test

21. How does the driver’s test booking work?

Once you register and pay, we book your test date online when it becomes available. We then take you to the DLTC to confirm your appointment, and on test day we take you to the testing centre in our vehicle.

22. Can I use my own car for the test?

Yes, you may use your own car for the test at the same price.

23. What if my test is outside Pretoria/Centurion?

Please ask us for a revised price. An additional fee of approximately R350 applies for tests outside our standard area.

24. What must I bring on test day?

Please bring your ID and a copy, your learner’s licence and a copy, 2 ID photos, an optometrist eye test certificate, your appointment slip, and a bank card.

25. What are the testing centre fees?

The testing centre charges an appointment fee of R228 and an issue fee of R228. These fees are not included in any of our packages.

27. Do you offer refunds?

No. We do not offer refunds for any payments made or services booked and subsequently cancelled.

28. How long do I have to use my credit?

Credits are valid for 90 days from the date of first payment. Any unused credit after this period is forfeited.

29. Can I transfer credit to someone else?

No, credit is non-transferable.

Packages & Pricing

30. Which package should I choose?

Here is a brief guide: choose B1 for a learner’s licence only; B3 or B4 for the full journey from learner’s licence to driver’s licence; B5–B8 if you already have a learner’s licence; and B9–B10 for test-only services.

31. Are prices valid everywhere?

All pricing applies to the Pretoria and Centurion areas only.
